"Revving Up Generosity: BTB Car Show Raises Funds to Feed Families for Thanksgiving"

Bobby Wofford Making a Difference

In the small town of Spiro, there is a man who has been making a big impact on the community for the past 10 years. Bobby Wofford, a local barber, has been feeding people on Thanksgiving out of his barbershop, starting with just over 100 meals and growing to over 1600 last year. But with the rising cost of food, Bobby had to get creative in order to continue his mission of giving back to those in need.

Giving Back to the Community

Bobby’s inspiration to give back to the community came from a personal experience when he was a child. A kind stranger had come to his house and helped his family have a traditional Thanksgiving meal, which left a lasting impression on Bobby. This act of kindness sparked a fire in Bobby to pay it forward and ensure that others in his community could experience the same joy and generosity that his family did.

The Car Show Fundraiser

In order to raise money for the Thanksgiving meals, Bobby and his father decided to organize a car show downtown. They were unaware of the costs involved in participating in a car show, but with the support of the community and local businesses, they were able to make it happen. The mayor even granted them permission to host the event, which was a huge success with a great turnout of cars and spectators.

The Importance of Community Support

Bobby recognizes that his efforts would not be possible without the help of dedicated individuals in Spiro. Coach David Hogan and Jensen Hambrite have been instrumental in helping Bobby reach his fundraising goals each year. Additionally, Callie Warren ensures that all the necessary paperwork is in order and coordinates meal deliveries to those in need, including foster homes, homeless shelters, senior citizen centers, and women’s shelters.

Looking to the Future

Bobby’s ultimate goal is to leave a positive impact on the world and be remembered as someone who made a difference in the lives of others. His mantra of “if you give, you will receive” drives his mission to spread kindness and compassion in his community. Through his annual Thanksgiving meals, Bobby hopes to bring joy and comfort to those who may be struggling during the holiday season.

Bobby Wofford’s dedication to giving back to his community demonstrates the power of kindness and generosity. Through his annual Thanksgiving meals and fundraising efforts, Bobby has touched the lives of countless individuals in Spiro. His commitment to making a difference serves as an inspiration for others to lend a helping hand and spread positivity wherever they go.
